Unless you’ve been off the planet over the last week or so, you know that U. S. armed forces have been withdrawn from Afghanistan. People can have legitimate discussions over whether we should have withdrawn or whether we should have even been there in the first place, but no one can seriously argue that the withdrawal wasn’t completely botched.
The Taliban were in charge in Afghanistan before, so we know what life will be like under their rule. One group especially in danger is the small minority of Christians in Afghanistan. Last week we looked at Matthew 5:10-12, in which Jesus said, “Blessed are the persecuted.” Christians in Afghanistan are facing severe persecution as we speak.
